“Visible Together” – Empowerment & Dialogue for Young LGBTQ+ People and Their Families

• Strengthening self-determination, visibility, and social participation of young LGBTQ+ individuals
• Promotion of acceptance, dialogue, and mutual understanding within families
• Raising awareness among migrant organizations regarding diversity, human rights, and democracy
Target groups
• Young LGBTQ+ people aged 15–30 with Ukrainian or post-Soviet migration backgrounds
• Parents and relatives who need support in dealing with coming out and identity-related questions
• Engaged individuals from migrant self-organizations working in the fields of diversity, integration, and democracy
Methods / Activities
• Interactive workshops and group trainings on identity, diversity, human rights, democracy, and media literacy
• Mentoring program (1:1 support) for young activists
• Family work: moderated discussion groups, education on LGBTQ+ topics, psychological support
• Dialogue formats such as World Café and intergenerational/community meetings
• Social media campaign to increase visibility and reach new target groups
Timeframe
01.02.2026 – 31.12.2026, Düsseldorf region (North Rhine-Westphalia)
Expected impact
The project strengthens democracy, diversity, and inclusion by enabling young queer people and their families to actively participate in social processes.
