Migrant women simply strong in everyday life (MiA) – Empowerment and integration of women

The project “Migrantinnen einfach stark im Alltag (MiA)” offers low-threshold courses for women with migration and refugee experience. In a safe learning environment, topics such as everyday life in Germany, health, education, language, rights and responsibilities, child-rearing, and social participation are addressed.

The content is delivered in a practical way and is oriented toward the participants’ needs, enabling them to strengthen their independence and feel more confident in their daily lives. The concept is based on the nationwide program “MiA – Migrantinnen einfach stark im Alltag,” which supports women in the integration process and strengthens their social competencies.

Main goal / overarching objective

The overall aim of the project is to empower women with migration and refugee experience so that they can confidently manage their everyday lives, know their rights, and actively participate in social life.

Through practical education, exchange, and empowerment, self-confidence, orientation in Germany, and social integration are strengthened.

Sub-goals

• strengthening self-confidence and independence in everyday life
• providing knowledge about life in Germany (health, education, rights and responsibilities)
• improving communication and language skills
• strengthening social connections and mutual support among women
• promoting social participation and integration
• raising awareness of topics such as equality, health, and education

Target group

Women with migration or refugee experience aged 16 and above who live in Germany and need support in navigating everyday life, learning the language, and integration.

Particular attention is given to women who do not yet have access to regular educational programs or who require additional support in daily life.

Where and how often?

The courses take place regularly in small groups in the organization’s premises.

A course usually consists of several sessions (e.g., once or twice a week) and combines learning content with practical exercises and exchange among participants.

In addition, workshops and information sessions on various everyday topics may be organized.
