Regional Counseling for Refugees in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW)
The project is funded by the Ministry for Children, Youth, Family, Equality, Refugees and Integration (MKJFGFI) of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
(The funding authority is the District Government of Arnsberg.)
The main objective of the Regional Counseling service is to provide refugees with professional and independent support in orientation and integration in North Rhine-Westphalia.
Counseling content:
• Self-help support: Refugees are empowered to independently organize and manage their lives in Germany.
• Legal information: Counseling on residence and social law issues (outside the core asylum procedure).
• Local integration: Support in accessing language courses, education, employment, housing, and healthcare services.
• Strengthening participation: Promotion of social contacts and inclusion in the local community.
• Crisis intervention: Assistance in cases of psychosocial challenges or acute emergency situations.
In this way, the project bridges the gap between state accommodation and long-term integration into regular support systems.
